There are many questions that have been raised to me over the years related to architecture. Many times clients don't know what to ask, they know no starting point. That is why in a first meeting with the client, often I start with the questions and little by little we create together the base of the project. It helps client as well to think in depth his choices and raise questions of his own. But of course before getting to that first meeting, I put together a series of frequently asked questions that might help you as a visitor of my blog. I hope it helps you create an idea of the mission that the architect has, if not, do not hesitate to contact me and discuss more in detail.
What does consultation with an architect mean?
Consulting is a service that supports each client, providing information from a new and unknown field. This consulting phase is a very necessary one because in the consulting sessions I will detail what the terms in the field of architectural design, what the approval process means and what types of approvals we have to go through with a project. A consulting session will bring more clarity to the approach of a project, or a clearer analysis of the investment you are about to make.
How much do the services of an architect cost?
Many times I get this question at first sight. For me the real question is: “What is the added value in exchange for those costs? When we talk about costs, there are many aspects that must be taken into account such as time, size of project, location, new or existing building and many more.
As a starting point, I propose to clients various packages depending on how far they want to commit into the process. Those packages allow them to be in control of their budget and offer a clear view on how far takes the project. As much as I would like to provide an exact cost I can only do so at the time of preparing an offer. The offers I make treat each project carefully and I look as much as I can at the details that are necessary for the realisation of a project. Therefore reconsider the value that the fees of an architect could offer you.
How much does it cost to build my project ?
The cost of building your project can vary based on several factors, including the size and complexity of the project, materials used, labor requirements, permits, and any additional features or customisation the client may desire.
It is completely understandable that clients may not have an idea of costs and they would like to know in what they are getting involved, finacialy speaking. The issue with this question is that pops up in the first meeting, when usually no one has any idea of the size, structure, materials, technical and architectural solution, etc. So is almost impossible to comunicat a price range without the client to feel like is too much or is not realistic.
In order to provide with an accurate and comprehensive estimate for your project, it’s essential for the architect/constructor to have detailed plans and specifications to review. These plans allow us to assess the scope of work, materials required, labor needs, and any special considerations that may impact the project’s cost. Without the necessary plans and information, it would be challenging for anyone to accurately determine the cost of your project. I want to ensure that I provide you with a realistic and transparent estimate that aligns with your expectations and budget.
I understand the importance of clarity and transparency throughout the design and construction process, and I’m committed to working closely with you to achieve your vision while staying within your budget.
What are the stages of an architecture project?
For each stage, we can add a time spent and a budget. At this, the execution timeline and all those involved in the project can participate to complete with details and provide the overview. Comprehensive and easy to follow, the 6 steps process assures the control of the project, budget and seals a successful result.
